The Galley has been around forever (alright, since 1934) and walking inside, you feel transported back in time. Not only do you get the vibe that most of the patrons are regulars, you also are surrounded by a plethora of bright, kitschy decorations that elevate the room from mere dining room to show place. Bamboo walls, hanging nets, diving globes, and multicolor lights bring an exuberant, happy glow to the restaurant. You’re not only there for dinner, you’re there for a good time.
As suggested by the décor, the stars of the menu are seafood, but if you’re a landlubber, the tender and juicy T-bone is sure to please. Their pan-friend calamari is so fresh you could swear it just moved on your plate. The fish is cooked simply, but it’s so fresh it doesn’t need any goopy sauce to bring out it’s natural flavor.
The Galley is a happy place. It’s the kind of place you’ll remember all your life. We’re not sure WHY the crazy décor is so heartwarming, but that doesn’t really matter. All you need to know is it’s been around forever, and with calamari this good, it’s sure to stay around forever too. nvl. |
