Beach eats are plentiful. Just go to the end of the continent and any where you turn your going to stumble into to a restaurant. You see the rub comes down to this. Most of the beach joints I have encountered have either been (1) too greasy and of questionable health standards and/or (2) over priced. The Terrace (in Marina del Rey) defies this stereo type and here is why.
As I entered The Terrace the first thing I noticed was the festive decor that gave the place it's charm. It was well kept, clean and not too overwhelming. It seemed to capture a little elegance and yet retain that casual beach vibe. The tables are decorated with white table cloths and pretty pink cloth napkins. (call me a food dork but I just love cloth napkins!)
The Terrace has a versatile menu which makes for great date food. Both the Burger w/bacon, avocado, cheese and the pasta bolognese were delicious and very affordable considering the proximity to the beach. This is one of those restaurants that I wish I could sample further because their menu is so eclectic. Perhaps we will do a follow up review?
So... head down Washington Boulevard until you reach the end of north America. Take a right and stumble into The Terrace. It's pretty, it's clean and the prices are fair. (oh..and take a date!) rps. |
