Authentic Russian food is notoriously hard to find. So hard in fact, that the Rant set off for San Diego to sample the fare at Pomegranate. The décor really grabs your attention as you walk into the door; Graffiti (In English and Russian) adorns the walls. You can spend the whole meal reading the witty remarks left by regular patrons.
The authentic Georgian menu offers a great variety of entrees and starters. Try the salad plate for a taste of several different vegetables served pickled or coated in tangy dressings. For an entrée, the Georgian BBQ is so tender it falls right off the bone. If you’d like something a little more familiar, Georgian roast chicken is delicately flavored and very tasty.
If you’re looking for something different - and you’re feeling like a drive, visit Pomegranate for some traditional Russian delicacies. nvl. |
