As of this date (5-5-05) The Luxor Cafe is out of business. I would love to say the loss of this restaurant will be missed however, when The Restaurant Rant reviewed The Luxor Cafe, we found it's atmosphere stark and bleak. The service was adequate but didn't make any remarkable memories and for that matter, nor did the cuisine.
The accessible, diverse culture that permeates the city of Los Angeles invites for great eats and great competition. With Mediterranean restaurants such as Sham, Shamshiri, Pars and Habibi Cafe, an upstart in this arena has got to have more than one inviting or outstanding characteristic.
What are some lessons that can be learned from the closing of the Luxor Cafe? Make sure your establishment is well lit and noticeable from the street. Not only does your atmosphere need to meet or exceed the standards set by your competitors, so does your cuisine. |
