The morning after our dinner at Luna Park, the first thing out of my mouth was “Wow, that was a great meal!” You know you’ve dined well when you can stop thinking about it the next day. The entrees at most fine dining establishments start out at about $15.00 and steadily climb higher. Luna park just might be the best value in L.A.’s fine dining scene, considering their menu tops out at $16.50 and the $12.50 pasta tastes like a million bucks.
With prices like these, it’s not surprising that Luna Park is packed (There wasn’t an empty table - at 9:00 on a Monday!). Take advantage of their easy, free, online reservations. It was a perfectly painless way to secure a table in their trendy dining room. The appetizers are great - don’t miss the goat cheese fondue with apples and grilled bread. If you’re feeling decadent, the mushroom ravioli with truffle oil is so rich you might just be magnanimous enough to share a mouthful with your dining companion. The stuffed boneless pork chop was another show stopper, and their fresh fish smelled divine. Do not leave without experiencing their delightfully adult take on S’mores - homemade graham crackers, served with fondue pots of bittersweet chocolate and marshmallow crème. No matter what you eat, their personal able staff will treat you so well, when the bill comes you’ll feel like you’ve had a wonderful evening for the price of a song.
Luna Park serves decadent food, at bargain prices, and the service makes you feel like visiting royalty. If I hadn’t eaten there myself, I’d think it was too good to be true! nvl. |
