After the bars and strip clubs close on Bourbon Street, the only thing left to do is head to Huey's 24/7 diner. This establishment is home to 1950's style decor and a menu that sports all of your diner favorites as well as true southern and New Orleans fair. Huey's a couple of great things going for it. First it is open 24 hours a day and second, it's within walking distance of party central.
Unfortunately , like most 24/7 diners, the standard of service tends to dip during the night shift. The reasons for this is pretty obvious. I think we can all imagine working a diner grave yard shift a stones throw from Bourbon Street in New Orleans but none the less, we had a lot of fun at this little bistro.
Upon occasion, while doing one of these reviews we stumble into little cuisine gems that are truly delightful and the fried dill pickles were exactly that. Granted, to the locals fried dill pickles are no big deal but to us west coast, non southern types this was a pretty cool find. Who would have thunk it!
And so....after the party is over, stagger down the street to Huey's and have one last round of fun! nvl. |
