Hanoi Café is one of my favorite finds. Small and unassuming, the patio is flanked by bamboo for some atmosphere, while the interior is utilitarian. The menu is simple, containing a handful of appetizers, and seven entrees that fall into the category of either bun (vermicelli rice noodles) or Pho (rice noodle soup) with toppings. What the menu lacks in variety, it more than makes up for in delicious, healthy cuisine.
The spring rolls with steak and shrimp are a stand out appetizer, accompanied by a salty-sweet peanut sauce. Any of the vermicelli combinations make a wonderful entrées including a hearty vegetarian option with seasoned tofu and seasonal vegetables. The beef is extremely tender and the shrimp are plump and succulent. The service here reflects the quality of the food; My drink never dipped below half full, and the servers were so friendly you felt right at home.
Healthy, flavorful food, outstanding service, and the most expensive entrée tops outs at $7.00. Be sure to put this all around standout on your must visit list. nvl. |
