It is a common misconception that gelato is just another flavor of Ice cream and while it is understandable how that mistake can be made, gelato simply is not ice-cream. Yes it is served frozen. Yes it is dairy based. Yes it is scrumptiously edible but nope....not ice cream.
Gelato Pazzo is doing business in the Riverwalk mall (in New Orleans) to affirm that conviction and do it well they do! Serving gelato up by the cone or by the cup, this little fast food style eats stand does not disappoint. It was a difficult decision but we finally chose chocolat gelato, pistachio gelato and dolce de leche gelato. I tend to lunge at anything chocolate believing (as many do) the more chocolate the better but in this case, the pistachio was the stand out.
The Riverwalk mall has a sprawling food court and many nice restaurants, (see Anthony's Seafood House) and while the temptation to end your meal with a menu dessert is compelling, we suggest (because that is what we do) that you amble down to Gelato Pazzo and fill your sweet tooth with gelato...the un-ice cream! rps. |
