El Cholo opened in 1923, and moved to it’s present home in a renovated bungalow in 1931. There’s a lot of history here - Gary Cooper and Bing Crosby were regulars - and it shows. The décor has kept it’s classic appeal, and the menu lists the dates that their entrees were added. When your food arrives you’ll have ample proof of why El Cholo has been in business so long.
The Tres Tacos El Carbon might not be good for your waistline, they are definitely good for your taste buds - tender steak and crispy bacon give them a smoky, vibrant flavor you just can’t get anywhere else. The Sonora style enchiladas are stacked with chicken, beans, sauces, and a perfectly fried egg. They’re light years ahead of the standard rolled enchiladas you’re used to.
El Cholo has had over 80 years to perfect it’s food, and you can taste it in every bite - come see what L.A. has been raving about for decades. nvl. |
