Attentive service, great food, good value, and ambient atmosphere can all endear customers to restaurants, but I’ve always been won over by accommodating chefs. East India Grill is a small place, but they definitely work very well with what they’ve got. The lighting is romantic, the tables are nicely set, and the quiet traditional India music sets the mood well. The menu is a great deal (Try the fixed price meals that include appetizers, entrée and dessert for a full taste of India.) and they have an extensive selection of beer and wine.
The service here really went above and beyond the call of duty. When I enter an Indian restaurant, the first thing I do is flip to the dessert menu in search of halwa, an Indian sweet that is quite possibly one of the best desserts ever conceived of by humankind. When I mentioned I was sorry that they didn’t serve halwa, our waiter disappeared into the kitchen and returned with the good news that the chef on duty would be happy to whip a batch up just for me. They didn’t know we were restaurant reviewers. All they saw was a girl who really loved her halwa. THAT’S the kind of service that wins customer loyalty, and that’s the kind of service that deserves to be touted by word of mouth.
East India Grill is a wonderful gem that offers outstanding service, reasonable prices, and food that tastes as good as it looks. Visit them for dinner and they’ll see to it that you’ll come back again and again. nvl. |
