From time to time, the Ransters do venture forth from our comfy digs on the west side and on one such trek we found our selves in the Larchmont area of Hancock Park. It was here that said Rantsters did a double take and confessed (to each other) that Los Angeles really is a cool place. Larchmont is not hip or trendy, it's just kind of homey and nice. Cool shops, nice neighborhoods and best of all....this is the home of Chan Dara.
The House of Chan Dara is actually one of I believe, three restaurants that reside in our city. We didn't set out to have lunch at Chan Dara (truth be told we rarely do get to where we've planned to go) but as we happened upon it, Chan Dara was too lovely to pass up. We couldn't pass up having lunch on their peaceful patio.
Chan Dara doesn't necessarily serve the standard Thai cuisine. Oh, you will find a wide array of the Thai dishes you've become accustom to but if you go to Chan Dara, you need to take the opportunity to try some of their more unique plates. The crispy mango chicken was really wild and the green beans in garlic sauce with tofu were a nice twist for vegetarian faire.
So get out there and try something new! Take the journey to Chan Dara and dare to be treated! |
