In-laws in town? Looking for somewhere suitably old-school to take them? Billingsley‘s, (Established by the son of Barbara Billingsley, of Leave it to Beaver fame) is about as old school as it gets. Dark and spacious, with big leather booths, you can please any carnivore with their great open-faced steak sandwich or a toasty French dip.
The menu features plenty of melts and burgers, and their full bar practically begs you to have a drink with lunch. Their $3.50 Gin and Tonic was the best I’d had in ages. Their early bird dinner specials, include salad, entrée, dessert, and beverage. You can choose from steaks, chicken, fish, or a large variety of their popular entrees. They even still make their own Green Goddess salad dressing. How’s that for old school?
Billingsley’s is from another time, and it will take you back to a kinder and gentler time. Enjoy their classic foods, their roomy booths, and a drink with lunch. After all - it’s very old school. nvl. |
