We are not sure why Azteca closed but we are sincerely sorry to see the loss of this restaurant. Perhaps with Casablanca and La Cabana a mere 2 blocks away the competition was too much. What we do know is that a business that started in 1969 is no longer in operation and the fans of classic mexican cuisine will feel the loss the most.
Our original post is below:
Azteca Restaurant was established in 1969, and it still retains its homey old world charm. Most of the seating here is in booth form, so it’s a great place for a casual late dinner with your sweetheart. The candles on the table add some nice atmosphere and a full bar ensures you’ll be able to relax just a little bit quicker. The weekends boast live music, so dig into the complimentary chips and enjoy.
The food here is fairly traditional, and the portions are hearty. The burritos are especially good. The desserts are cheap, but you can’t tell from the taste. A lot of Mexican restaurants serve a flan that might as well be creamy jell-o, but the richness of Azteca’s recipe is one you’ll definitely want to save room for.
With a convenient parking lot, Azteca is a perfect place to unwind - without spending an hour cruising for that ever elusive parking place.nvl |
