The restaurant's that line Pico boulevard near the Westside Pavilion, tend to be on the trendy side. You know the type. Younger college types sauntering twixt the tables slinging menus and the latest concoctions devised by the next last great chef du Pico and while that is all well and good (really, most of those eateries are good!) there is something comforting about settling down in a comfy booth in an old school Italian restaurant. Anna's is the answer.
Anna's Italian feeds you classic Italian cuisine that will linger with you. The food isn't necessarily the newest or boldest Sicilian challenge but it's just....well..really good! The seafood pasta was very fresh, fairly traditional and very tasty while the chicken marsala is everything you would expect.
The atmosphere at Anna's is certainly what you would interpret as classic and if the current trends in cuisine leave you yearning for a taste of old school, come to Anna's and leave the menu slingers behind. rps. |
